I’m Michael, I’m a Creative Director for KAYAK OpenTable’s European Marketing Team, based in Copenhagen. I work in-house, across the company’s brands; KAYAK, OpenTable, momondo, SWOODOO, checkfelix, and Cheapflights.
Prior to working at KAYAK OpenTable, I worked as a Creative Lead as part of trivago’s in-house creative production team. During my time at the German tech company, I wrote and produced TV commercials for trivago’s key markets, including the US, the UK, and France - examples of which you can see on the Work page. One of the commercials I wrote at trivago, ‘Buffet’, was described by travel news website Skift as 2019’s top-performing TV ad in the online travel sector.
Before trivago, I spent 6 years working in television and digital content; ideating, producing, edit producing, and scripting, for broadcasters and indies including the BBC, ITV, Sky, and Endemol Shine.
For anyone who’s read this far, here’s some additional information:
-I’ve started a wine website called Initial Wine. It’s a shop window for wines from around the world with letters on their labels.
-I once wrote an awards ceremony speech for Sir Michael Caine, which he wrote out by hand, before reading word for word.
-I’ve had a dabble with a short story (haven’t we all?), I present to you The Second.
-I enjoy making cards for my friends, family, and loved ones. Here’s one, for when you’re taking your Yorkshire born Dad on an e-biking weekend.
